ACA L4-Open Water Coastal Kayak Skills Assessment

The ACA Instructor Certification program polishes the paddling and teaching skills of already competent paddlers aspiring to become instructors or trip leaders. This course is a prerequisite for ACA L-4 Open Water Coastal Kayak Instructor candidates and assesses the participants’ demonstration of technical competency, leadership, and overall skills. It emphasizes safety, efficiency, self-reliance, and the ability to support others. This is an assessment to be recognized for L4 paddling skills and open to all, whether an understanding and recognition of L4 skills alone, or a paddler looking to progress to attain the L4 Instructor award as their next goal.
