DESCRIPTION:Details\nSurf and Rough Water Weekend\nAugust 20 – 22 (Fri – Sun)\nLocation: Cape Charles\, VA\nInstructor: Jeff Atkins\nCost: $295 + housing\nJoin Jeff for three days of fun and skill development on the Virginia Eastern Shore. This class will involve one day of\nrough/open water training and two days of surfing.\nThe rough water day will be at Smith Island off Wise Point (near Kiptopeke). We’ll deal with the outrageous current that\nwhips around the tip of Smith and the incredible bouncy water that it generates right at the tip. And\, the wave train\nbeckons! The class will include strategies for dealing with the various confused water features found in the area and ways\nof grappling with issues that arise as a result of things going awry. Figure on some incident management in rough water\,\nincluding rescues\, towing\, back-deck carries\, etc.\nThe two days of surfing will include at least one at Metompkin Inlet and maybe one at Smith Island. If it seems like the\nsurf at Smith isn’t working\, both surfing days will be at Metompkin.
